Android is generous with home-screen options. Chrome can make a simple shortcut or install a site as a web app, Samsung Internet has its own menu, and launchers from different phone makers each add a twist. Fair Go says its casino runs in the browser with no app required (our Fair Go casino app guide explains why), so any of these routes gives you an app-style icon without installing anything from outside Google Play.

Add Fair Go to your Android home screen with Chrome

  1. fairgocasino.com9:41

    Step 1

    Open Fair Go in Chrome

Type fairgocasino.com yourself and check the padlock. The icon will open this page, so start on the real site.

  2. fairgocasino.comNew tabHistoryBookmarksAdd to Home screenDesktop site9:41

    Step 2

Tap ⋮, then Add to Home screen

The three-dot menu is at the top right. Some versions show Install app instead of, or as well as, Add to Home screen.

  3. fairgocasino.comAdd to Home screenFair GoCancelAdd9:41

    Step 3

    Name it and tap Add

Keep the name short. If Chrome asks whether to install or create a shortcut, either works; the difference is explained below.

    Step 4

    Find your icon

It appears on your home screen, or in the app drawer if the home screen is full. Long-press and drag it where you want it.

Install app or Create shortcut?

Chrome's two kinds of home-screen icon
Install appCreate shortcut
Opens inIts own window, no address barA normal Chrome tab
In the app drawerUsually, yesNo, home screen only
Removing itUninstall, like an appRemove, like any shortcut
Good forA full-screen, app-like feelKeeping the address bar in view

Chrome only offers Install app when a site provides what it needs to behave like an app, so don't worry if you only see the shortcut option. Both open the same live Fair Go site, and neither needs the special permissions an APK file would; our guide to fake Fair Go apps explains why that matters.

Samsung Internet on Galaxy phones

Choose Home screen and confirm

On a Galaxy phone, Samsung Internet's menu button (three lines) sits on the bottom toolbar. Tap it, choose Add page to, then Home screen, and confirm. Our Samsung Internet guide covers the settings in that browser that affect Fair Go, from ad blockers to dark mode.

Firefox and other Android browsers

In Firefox for Android, open the menu and look for Add to Home screen or Install. Other browsers usually keep a similar option in their main menu, sometimes under Add to or Shortcut. If your browser has no such option, make the icon in Chrome instead; it will open in Chrome.

Icon didn't appear?

  • Check the app drawer

Installed web apps often land in the app drawer first, especially when the home screen is full. Long-press and drag the icon out.

  • Home screen layout locked

Samsung and some other launchers can lock the layout. On a Galaxy, long-press an empty spot, open the home screen settings and switch off Lock Home screen layout.

  • Shortcut permission switched off

Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO and some other phones need Chrome to have a home-screen shortcut permission. Look in Chrome's app permissions.

  • Made it in a work profile?

An icon created in the work version of Chrome lands with your work apps. Use your personal Chrome for anything casino-related.

  • Wrong page opens

The icon opens the page you saved. If it lands on an old promotion, delete it and add it again from Fair Go's home page.

Moving or removing the icon

Long-press the icon to move it into a folder or onto a quieter screen. To remove it, long-press and choose Remove for a shortcut, or Uninstall for an installed web app. Neither touches your Fair Go account or balance. If you've decided to take a break, removing the icon is a sensible first step; our phone limits guide covers stronger tools such as Digital Wellbeing timers. The rest of the Android setup, from saved logins to Google Pay, is in our Fair Go on Android guide.

Android home-screen FAQ

Is the home-screen icon the Fair Go app?

It's the app experience Fair Go offers. Fair Go says no app is required on Android, so the icon simply opens its mobile site in one tap.

Should I choose Install app or Add to Home screen?

Either. Install opens Fair Go full screen and puts it in your app drawer; a shortcut opens a normal Chrome tab.

Why can't I see Install app in Chrome?

Chrome only offers it when a site supports being installed. Add to Home screen gives you a working icon either way.

Do I need to allow unknown apps?

No. Adding a site to your home screen never needs that permission. If something asks you to allow unknown apps for Fair Go, it's an APK, and we'd avoid it.

Does the icon work with Samsung Internet?

Yes. Use Samsung Internet's menu, then Add page to, then Home screen. The icon then opens in Samsung Internet.

Will removing the icon delete my account?

No. It only removes the shortcut; your Fair Go account and balance are unaffected.
